This is a fun project for kids of all ages, a simple and fun valentine that any child would be excited to pass out. This card needs minimal help from an adult except for the glue gun. Best of all it takes little time to make, so it could even be made at the last-minute.
Items needed:
Cricut explore machine and design space
Black Cricut pen
Xyron x machine
Valentine’s Day themed ribbon
Glittered foam heart shapes
heart-shaped lollipops
glue gun
white cards sized 4×6
I used pre-made cards in the size of 4×6 and cut in half to create two cards. Cricut has an app for the iPhone or the iPad use it to type to/from in Fontastic Fonts-DJ Doodlers sized 1.4 by 1.7. Place 6 4×6 card bases on Cricut mat, click send to mat in the bottom right hand corner. Tap the 1 on the far left hand corner and change the project number to 6, tap anywhere on the top and it will take you back to the mat screen. At the bottom of the screen tap snap mat to take a picture of the mat, this will enable placement of the to/from in the correct place. Hold your phone/ipad above the mat to take a picture. Once the mat is correctly lined up the area around the mat will turn into a green box it will automatically take the picture. Confirm to use the picture then hold and drag each to/from to the bottom left hand corner of each card. Tap the green Cricut symbol on bottom right hand corner to load mat into Cricut machine, turn dial to cardstock on Cricut machine push mat up to rollers. Holding firmly with mat under guides and push blinking arrow to load mat, once loaded insert pen and push blinking Cricut symbol on machine. Once completed remove the 6 card bases from mat.
The Xyron is an adhesive machine that makes anything into a sticker which makes this project very quick and easy. Cut your ribbon to a length of 6 inches, then place it into the Xyron and pull through, tear off and rub over the top to insure the adhesive is on the back of the ribbon. Remove top layer of clear plastic and peel off ribbon and adhere it to the card just above the word to. Take four hearts and add adhesive using Xyron and layer them together and adhere them to the card base. Tie a piece of ribbon in a bow on the lolipop and trim the ends.
Using glue gun place a dot of glue to the back of the bow on the lollipop, and adhere it on top of the ribbon on the card base. Have your child write the names on the card to complete the valentine.
Just saw the valentine card project and I can’t wait to try it out!
