The new Cricut Easypress 2 machines and brand new carry bags were announced at the Cricut Mountain Make-a-thon at the end of July. Those that attended the event were able to purchase the machines early at the event, but these will be available sometime in the fall and the bags will be available sometime in 2019 estimated in the Spring but no definite dates as of yet.
The new easy press 2 machines come in three sizes: 6×7, 9×9, and 12×10. The estimated prices are $129.99 for the 6×7, $179.99 for the 9×9, and $229.99 for the 12×10. The new features include a beautiful raspberry color, new slimmer redesigned base that is raised up on feet and enables it to fit in the new carry bags coming soon. It heats super fast up to 400 degrees with temperature memory, so if you’re pressing the same material there is no need to reset temperature. On the back of the machine just above the power cord there is a port to connect for future updates, and a thicker heating plate.
The three sizes with all the new features makes it even easier to complete a project. The small easypress 2 in 6×7 is the perfect size for baby snap shirts, clutch bags, lunch bags, small accent images, and many more. It heats super quick and is surprisingly not that heavy, but yet it gives the same results as the other sizes.
This lunch bag took under 2 minutes from start to finish including heat up time for the easy press 2. Imagine all the extra time you will have to create beautiful projects with amazing, lasting results. With the new easy press 2 in three sizes it’s easy to get a project done anywhere you go and have access to an electrical socket, and later it will be even easier with the new tote bags with a shoulder strap to take on the go. There are endless possibilities with these new presses I even use them to press my fabric pieces for projects as well.
The new easy press 2 machines come with a full color instruction guide, and a quick start guide with easy to follow pictures to apply the sample design to the drawstring bag included in the box. This bag makes a great dust cover, as it was covering the machine in the box or a nice size storage bag.
I love the new features of the new easy press 2 machines, I feel that all the new features are worth the extra cost. Whether you just need one size or all three, to have the ability of the easy press 2 to fit the project makes it so simple to complete a project. I still love my original easy press and it works great, but my projects can get done so much faster when I don’t have to akwardly try to balance the larger easypress when making something like a lunch bag, or a quick monogram. When using the 6×7 easypress 2 there is no need for pressing pillows to make an infant snap shirt, since it perfectly fits right in the middle and doesn’t rest on the seams of the shirt, which makes it quicker and more effective to adhere your image to the shirt.
The large easy press 2 makes quick work of larger projects, since you have to move the press around very little with it’s substantial size of 12×10, but it’s surprisingly not extremely heavy, with perfect results. It’s great for small shirts to cover the whole design and for larger shirts, tote bags, and much more because the size you don’t have to move it around much to cover the design.
The redesigned base is great with it’s low profile, slim design with feet, it takes up less space than the original easy press and with the feet it helps disperse the heat faster and it doesn’t heat up the surface as much that it is sitting on. The temperature memory is an awesome feature, if you use the same temperature setting, when it turns off and turns back on it will already be preset to the temperature of the last setting made. This makes it so much quicker to get to making the project since you don’t have to set the temperature or timer, this is one of my favorite features. I love these new easy press 2 machines, they’re small enough to take on the go, give amazing results in all three sizes. I cannot wait until these are available in retail they are a must have for any size iron on project. *I was not paid for this review, these are my own opinions of these products*
