I love using pillow covers, it’s so easy to change your decor and they are easy to store. This pillow cover is perfect, since the weather has been so cold, I would love to just stay inside.
Item’s needed for this project:
- 1 18×18 pillow cover
- 1 18×18 pillow form insert
- Lilac iron on
- Navy blue iron on
- Easypress 2
- Weeding tool
- Cricut machine (explore series or maker machine)
- Project link
Cut project
Open the project link and click make it. Make sure to select the mirror button to cut your image backwards for both mats. After I cut both colors, I weed the excess with the weeding tool and set aside.
Press design
To press design I used 330 for 30 seconds for a cotton pillow cover, if using a different type of material, click the link above to use the correct heat and time settings for your pillow cover.
Once the Easypress is preheated it will beep to signal it is ready for use. I always pre heat the material for a few seconds prior to pressing on my iron on design. This insures that any moisture is removed from the fabric and it helps press out wrinkles for a smoother surface.
I place the let’s hibernate design in the center of the pillow cover and press with the easy press by pressing the button to begin timer. The Easypress will beep when time is completed, then add the purple hearts and turn over and press for an additional 15 seconds. I find that this insures proper adhesion of design to the pillow cover, then wait until it has cooled down then remove the carrier sheet.
Your pillow cover is now ready to fill with your pillow form and ready for use. I love how quickly a project can come together and it’s something unique to fit your decor. These are so fun and easy to make your space your own.
