Cricut Design Space has now moved offline, this means better features and the ability to cut uninterrupted. Now you may be wondering where did the feature go to cut with more than one machine, simultaneously? This short tutorial will help you find this setting and also find the image name or cartridge you used right from the Canvas.
How to open another window
With Cricut Design Space open, on the top toolbar click the word File to show the dropdown menu. You will seen the words New Window, click on it and a new window will open enabling you to have a second screen to work in Design Space. This is familiar if you used multiple machines before in Design Space prior to the app using the offline feature.
This is a feature I use frequently, it can make a large project go much faster by cutting different parts simultaneously with multiple machines. Once you click New Window, a new Design Space window will open enabling you to change the machine you are working with, or if you have two of the same machines it can stay with the same setting. You will just select other the machine name from the drop down menu when you are cutting your project.
How to cut from each window
Open your project in each window and select the machine from the drop down menu, to cut your project. Now each machine button will turn blue showing that it is connected by bluetooth. Follow the prompts on the screen to select your material type and cut your project.
How to find out image name or cartridge name right from Canvas
To see the image name and what cartridge it is from, right click image in the layers panel. When you scroll down to the bottom click on Image info. this will show you the name of the image with the image number ( which you can use this number to search images), or you can click View Cartridge to see all the content in the cartridge with this particular image. This feature is great to use when you bring in multiple images from Design Space, but you have forgotten where you found them. It’s a great time saver, especially when you are already in Canvas.
These are great tips to help get you used to the new Cricut Design Space offline features. I will have more information on navigation features in the future.
